On the eve of its imminent release, Marvel Studios premiered one episode in theatres prior to select showings Thor – Love and Thunder .. This early release has resulted in the online premiere of Episode 1 “Magnum Opus”, which is now available for viewing.
I Am Groot Episode 2 Full Description
Warning – The rest of this article contains spoilers for I Am Groot, “Magnum Opus. “
In advance of the I Am Groot shorts hitting Disney+ on August 10, Marvel Studios released the “Magnum Opus” premiere episode in select theaters before Thor: Love and Thunder. A full description of this premiere, which is hilarious, has been made available with these shows now in progress.
The classic Marvel Studios fanfare is given an updated version with a speeded-up version. Baby Groot peeks into the shot in order to start the clip that takes place aboard the Benatar (the Guardians of the Galaxy ship). Groot is seen gathering supplies aboard the ship to create his artwork.
The first supplies are the shreds from an Alf comicbook, Rocket Raccoon’s tail hair which Groot trims with small scissors and an important piece of technology that was torn out of the ship. The next item in his collection is the soap bar that the talking tree takes from the shower and then uses to ride around on the soap
After gathering his materials, Groot gathers all the pieces and uses the comic to guide him. To complete his task, the adorable Guardian used the flame of one Star-Lord’s jetpack boots.
After all this, Groot decided to create a hole inside the ship’s interior, which he tried to fix with tape. All this leads to Bradley Cooper’s Rocket Raccoon making a surprising appearance to inspect the blast.
Rocket appears initially furious at his childlike comrade. But Groot eventually reveals his handmade art of all Guardians, which he promised to place on the refrigerator for everyone to see.
Just when Rocket realises Groot is using his tail hairs, the tree skids off on his soap bar as Groot gets pulled through the hole in the ship’s hull. The short ends.
The short film is in live action style. Rocket and Groot look exactly the same as in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume. 2 , However, these characters are CGI and any filming should have been minimal.
I Am Groot Is So Much Fun
Based on “Magnum Opus”, I Am Groot looks to be an enjoyable addition to the MCU. However, it might not suit everyone. While those who are looking for authentic character, storyline, action and meaning will be disappointed, anyone seeking fun adventures with Groot will enjoy the show.
Recently there was some debate about I Am Groot will ultimately be canonized to the MCU. James Gunn suggested that they might not. Canon is irrelevant here, as we are focusing on telling a happy story about Baby Groot’s years. This will hopefully bring a few laughs.
While a few Guardians may catch a mention or two during the initial episode, only Rocket is given a complete on-screen appearance and includes dialogue. This was delivered by Bradley Cooper. Rocket is the only digital Guardian that doesn’t need to be filmed to make it to screen. This will likely keep things the same for the entire series.
The series of five Disney+ shorts have been promised to include “several new and unusual characters,” so who knows what Marvel legends will appear by the time the project closes out. Fans should expect small, throwaway characters and not wait for Adam Warlock to appear.
I Am Groot will premiere on August 10, exclusively on Disney+.
