Marvel Studios is able to bring in a wide range of actors over the years. This includes many people who thought they would never be able to play ball, such as Angelina Jolie and Ethan Hawke. The company clearly knows its stuff and is able to make these actors feel at home.
However, there are many actors who have yet to appear in an MCU production. Many people would like to see the likes Mad Men ‘s Jon Hamm or La Land ‘s Ryan Gosling or even Breaking Bad ‘s Bryan Cranston joining the Avengers.
Simon Pegg is well-known for his participation in Edgar Wright’s films such as Hot Fuzz .. His love for any of his projects has been a constant source of joy. In an alternate timeline, Pegg would likely have played a part in Wright’s unmade AntMan movie.
Now, the actor commented on why Marvel movies aren’t really in his interests right now.
Simon Pegg’s Issue with Marvel
Simon Pegg, an actor in the Mission Impossible franchise, spoke with Newsweek about how it was and what he thinks about joining the MCU.
Pegg stated that he wants “to do more sort of grown-up stuff in the future,” which in this case means he’s looking “to do some more drama [work]:”
” I kinda want to do more grown up stuff in the near future. Mission Impossible seems like a mature franchise. It’s not aimed at kids as much as it is big adults, however, I would love to see more drama .
He continued to explain how he “[isn’t] in any rush to join the MCU” and that those projects “can be a little bit restrictive:”
” I’m not in a rush to sign up for the MCU. It’s almost like I want more freedom. These things are a commitment that you make, which can lead to being reliant on them for many years .”

Are Pegg’s Problems Justified?
Recently, Moon Knight‘s Ethan Hawke commented how Marvel Studios is very “actor-friendly,” so Pegg’s worries may be misplaced to some degree. Pegg wouldn’t have to sign long-term contracts with the company if he didn’t already.
The actor has some experience working with super heroes. His character, the son of a superhero in Amazon Studios’ The Boys is one who interacts with them every day.
There’s still the possibility that Pegg might sign up to be a part of Marvel Universe at some point. They’ll need all of the actors possible to expand their content library at the speed they are.
Hopefully Pegg will be able to try the films, since he’s a fan favorite performer. The world would love to see the Shaun of the Dead star in the MCU’s Sandbox.
