As Infinity Saga drew closer to its conclusion, the Avengers blockbusters began growing in size until it culminated with the one-two combination of Infinity War and Endgame .. Many have wanted to know where the Multiverse Saga is heading.
Every chapter in the MCU has ended with an Avengers flick. Fans have been naturally questioning why there isn’t an ensemble epic on Phase 4. With thirteen Phase 4 projects out, Marvel Studios has remained silent on its direction. There have been theories about where the MCU is going, and all indications point to Secret Wars ..
Now Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige took to Comic-Con’s stage to unveil the slates for Phase 5 & 6. This confirms that the current chapter of the Multiverse Saga will end this year. The Multiverse Saga will officially come to an end across May and November 2025 with Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, both of which fall in Phase 6, leaving two phases with no Avengers film.
Many might be disappointed that Avengers is so far away. However, Feige provided a solid explanation.
Marvel’s New Avengers Movie Strategy

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige discussed why Phase 4 and 5, which will not include Avengers blockbusters, was not possible during a conversation with Brandon Davis from Phase Zero at San Diego Comic-Con.
Discussing the lessons he’s learned throughout Phase 4, Feige explained that because there are more projects across fewer years, “it didn’t seem right to culminate” yet. Now, Feige believes it makes more sense to “[save] back-to-back Avengers films for the completion of a saga:”
“I think every project is a learning experience. We were actually laying out Phase 4 three years ago. It’s quite different from Phase 1, 2 & 3. That there are more projects and less years and therefore, it didn’t seem right to culminate… you know, we’re not gonna culminate every 10 months in an Avengers movie. Each of these films has grown to be very large and have become crossover events. After the Infinity War/Endgame creative experiences, we felt that it was all about ending a story. For the conclusion of a story, we saved back-to-back Avengers movies. That’s what we really wanted to do .”
