The release window for Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 seemingly leaks, potentially confirming when in 2023 the long-awaited game will drop.
Fans of Insomniac Games’ growing Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise have been eagerly awaiting an update about the long-awaited sequel. While a new trailer or clip may still be some time away, it appears the release window for the game may have leaked.
Writer Jamie Mayer, who serves as a writer on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the upcoming Wolverine game, recently listed “Fall 2023” for the former. While that information was removed shortly after, it was up long enough for screenshots to begin circulating. No date was provided for Wolverine. Insomniac has not officially confirmed or denied the release date.
The UK PlayStation Store recently opened up Spider-Man 2‘s page, allowing fans to add the game to their wishlists. In fact, they were encouraged to do so by Insomniac community director James Stevenson. It’s worth noting that Stevenson had earlier shared a gif featuring Peter Parker and Miles Morales from the first trailer, without any explanation, fueling speculation that the game’s second trailer was imminent. At the time of writing, no official announcements have been made.
Despite a trailer being nowhere in sight, fans did get a look at the game’s new logo. It features the same white spider insignia, only this time, it’s surrounded by black. The design likely alludes to the appearance of Venom, who briefly appeared in the game’s announcement trailer and has been the subject of immense speculation. chiefly concerning the identity of the symbiote’s host.
