Insomniac Games’ highly anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 received a new gameplay trailer at Sony’s State of Play event on September 14, showcasing the game’s improved progression system, the ability to switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales instantly, over 65 suits with over 200 customization options, and the theme of addiction that will be explored in the game.
The new gameplay trailer showed off how the game’s improved progression system will allow players to customize their Spider-Men in more ways than ever before. Players will be able to earn XP and upgrade their suits, skills, and gadgets. They will also be able to unlock new suits and suit styles, which will allow them to customize the look of their Spider-Men without affecting their stats.

The trailer also showed off the new way to switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales instantly thanks to the PS5’s SSD. This will allow players to seamlessly swap between the two Spider-Men to take on different challenges and enemies.
In addition to the improved progression system and the ability to switch between Spider-Men instantly, the trailer also revealed that the game will feature over 65 suits with over 200 customization options. The suits are inspired by Spider-Man’s appearances in past comics, movies, TV shows, and more.
Finally, the trailer also touched on the theme of addiction that will be explored in the game. The symbiote suit that Peter Parker wears in the game will give him new abilities, but it will also corrupt him and make him more aggressive. Players will have to decide how to use the symbiote suit and whether or not to let it consume them.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to release on October 20 for PlayStation 5.
