Hawkeye goes full were-hawk in a new Marvel’s Avengers cosmetic inspired by the Earth-666 Clint Barton’s animal appearance in Secret Avengers #33.
A leaked skin of Hawkeye shows him going full were-hawk in Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers.
Known leaker Miller Ross shared that Clinton Barton will be receiving a skin that resembles a mix between a hawk and a human. Originally, they mentioned that the skin may be inspired by Kate Bishop’s appearance in West Coast Avengers #3. However, they later clarified that it was in fact based on the Earth-666 version of Clint, as he appeared in Secret Avengers #33. The cosmetic will have unique physics for its feathers according to Ross, who also shared the timetable for the skin’s supposed release as “presumably within the next 2 months.”
In the past, Ross has accurately predicted skins, content bundles and character releases well ahead official announcements. They most recently gave fans the news that the game may be receiving an additional four unannounced heroes. These four are Captain Marvel, Shuri, She-Hulk and Ironheart, as they are heard being referenced in audio lines spoken by Zehra Fazal’s Jane Foster. This somewhat aligns with previous rumors that She-Hulk’s appearance in Marvel’s Avengers was originally set for August 2021, but production on the character was delayed until more resources could be allotted to the game’s developer, Crystal Dynamics.
Marvel’s Avengers Offers a Ton of Skins
The game has leaned into the many iterations throughout Marvel’s long comic book history. The most recent is a new skin for Captain America’s ‘Cel Shaded Outfit’ that looks as though it was torn straight from the page of a comic book. Available now in the game’s marketplace, Cap’s new duds came out shortly after his longtime friend Bucky Barnes a.k.a the Winter Soldier joined the game as a playable character.
With a mix of long-range firepower and close-range martial arts, Bucky is a force to be reckoned with. His intrinsic ability is Steel-Forged Tenacity, which grants him the ability to parry and counter attacks made against him. Upon release, the Winter Soldier’s in-game skins reflect a long history as Cap’s sidekick, enemy and ally once more.
Among others, these include outfits inspired by his first full comic book appearance in Captain America #6, his prison get-up from Captain America #616 and his original look as Cap’s sidekick in Joe Simon and Jack Kirby’s Captain America Comics #1.
Marvel’s Avengers is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC.
