One of the latest Marvel’s Avengers skins gives Clint Barton a comics-accurate recreation of his outfit as the leader of the Secret Avengers.
Marvel’s Avengers dropped a new skin for Hawkeye featuring his comics-accurate look from the Secret Avengers comics.
The latest skin from Marvel‘s Avengers gives Clint Barton the shaggy blonde hair and purple sunglasses sported by Hawkeye in the Secret Avengers comics, which began with writer Ed Brubaker and artist Mike Deodato at the helm before several others took over. Clint also sports his famous emblem on his chest and several artful straps on his limbs and torso.
Hawkeye’s Role in Secret Avengers
The Secret Avengers comics depict a black-ops sect of the team initially led by Steve Rogers, who at that time was the former Captain America. It also served as part of a relaunch for its Heroic Age. The President of the United States assigns Rogers as the country’s new primary law enforcement agent and disbands the Superhuman Registration Act at the captain’s request. Rogers then creates a new group of heroes to work in the shadows, including Clint. Eventually, Rogers leaves the group and makes Hawkeye the new leader in Secret Avengers Vol. 1 #22. Clint also eventually gives up leadership in Secret Avengers Vol. 2 #16.
Marvel’s Avengers added Clint Barton to the roster along with the comics’ other Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, in 2021. The DLC told the story of Clint’s disappearance and explained why he had not been a part of the team during the main storyline. Since then, the game added several new skins for Clint, many comic-accurate or based on his appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These include a “classic” Hawkeye look that almost perfectly recreates his outfit in the original comics and another that takes after his suit in Captain America: Civil War, as played by Jeremy Brenner.
Besides suits, Marvel’s Avengers highlighted Clint as it celebrated Disability Pride in July. In the comics, Clint Barton sustained 80% hearing loss after a confrontation with Crossfire’s hypnotic ultrasounds. Franklin Richards restored his hearing, only for him to lose it again when the Clown damaged his ears by shoving his arrows in both ears. Clint has since worn hearing aids constructed by Tony Stark.
Marvel’s Avengers is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Hawkeye’s “Modern” suit is now available in the Marketplace.
