Marvel Studios’ huge panel shows are legendary. There’s no better way to get a thrill for MCU fans than when Kevin Feige, the studio’s president, stands in front of a crowd and reveals the future plans for the MCU. San Diego Comic-Con 2019 was a major one for the studio, as Feige announced an expansive Phase 4 slate, but except for Mahershala Ali’s Blade, all those projects have now been released.
Later in 2019, Marvel Studios returned to Disney’s D23 event to announce Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk. Due to the pandemic, D23 was the last time Feige was able to hold a major in-person panel, with recent reveals being limited to digital events such as Disney+ Day and the House of Mouse’s Investor Day.
There is still plenty to do on Disney+ for the future MCU, but the next July’s The Marvels will mark the close of the theatrically announced slate. As such, Feige is expected to make waves at Marvel Studios’ Hall H mega-panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 23.
But will Feige reveal the big blockbusters for Disney+ and Disney+ adventure films? Is there any big information that the Marvel Studios President can share about projects already in development? Here are 27 announcements Marvel Studios may deliver at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con panel.
Safe Bets
Black Panther 2: First Look

Doctor Strange from the Multiverse of Madness is now in the backview mirror. Thor, Love and Thunder will also be there by San Diego Comic-Con. Disney has left its marketing options open for Black Panther – Wakanda Forever ,. The first trailer could be shown at the Marvel Studios panel. This is especially important considering the promise of the sequel to the film to “big waves” during the convention.
Although San Diego Comic-Con takes place the weekend of July 21, placing it just under 113 days before Black Panther 2 hits theaters. Thor 4 only released its first trailer 81 days prior to release. While footage will be shown, it is not a surprise that panel members won’t see it for at most a few more weeks.
Who knows how closely Marvel Studios will keep Wakanda forever and its confirmed introductions of Namor, Atlantis, to the MCU. However, there are good chances that Kevin Feige will announce Tenoch Huerta as the MCU’s Namor. This has been widely rumored.
She Hulk Releases A Teaser

By Comic-Con’s start Thor will be already in theaters and Ms. Marvel ”s finale will be several weeks away. So, attention will be turning to Marvel Studios’ next release, She-Hulk, which hits Disney+ on August 17; this will open the doors to the series having a major presence during the panel.
Attenees should see the new trailer, but like Black Panther2 , it’s not clear if that footage will be made public. Since Matt Murdock is widely believed to have been appearing as both a lawyer and a hero for quite some time, many will hope to see Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in this footage. Perhaps Feige wants to make his participation a surprise.
Werewolf by Night Finally Announced

Marvel Studios is known for keeping secrets. Werewolf by Night is one such case. According to reports, the Disney+ Halloween Special already has a cast including Gael Garcia Bernal, Elsa Bloodstone and Man-Thing. Michael Giacchino is in charge of the direction.
Werewolf by Night has already been filmed, had casting confirmed by major outlets, and it’s set for a Halloween 2022 Disney+ premiere, all with no usual fanfare announcement. The release of the special is only three months away. It will be revealed at Comic-Con, with all the cast on stage and the footage being shown to the attendees.
Blade gets an
Update

Kevin Feige brought Mahershala Ali out at Comic-Con 2019 to drop the surprise announcement of Blade being in development at Marvel Studios. Updates have not been available in the past three years, however, Bassam Tariq has signed up to direct and the script is complete. Shooting should begin this October.
Although there won’t be a trailer, the cast might come on stage to announce a release date and concept art. Fans can only hope for a Jared Leto appearance from Morbius.
Marvel Studios Animation Reveals Previews

Aside from What if …?? , Marvel Studios has three other animated series in the works: X-Men ’97 , Spider-Man: Freshman Year, and Marvel Zombies. All of these projects were announced on Disney+ Day, but no news has been released. Exclusive looks have been revealed for the undead revival and unfinished mutant epic. This could include concept art and footage as well as release dates.
Likely
Ant-Man 3 and The Marvels Showcase Trailers

Comic-Con always has a lot of new footage. However, it is rare that much of this footage will ever be available online. Marvel Studios often shows clips from its upcoming projects at the event, so there’s a high chance that attendees will be the first to catch a peek at Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels, which are set for release in February and July 2023, respectively.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Provide Footage

James Gunn teased that there would be a presence at Comic-Con from his upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy projects, however it’s not yet clear to what degree. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special coming this year, and Vol. 3 in May 2023, perhaps attendees may be treated to some clips or behind-the-scenes footage from one or both. The director might even show Chukwudi’s villain The High Evolutionary or Rocket’s new girlfriend Lylla (a talking otter).
Fantastic 4 Gets an Update

Disney completed its acquisition of Fox in 2019, and yet it’s only just beginning to utilize the X-Men and Fantastic Four, with Reed Richards and Charles Xavier both appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. A Fantastic Four reboot was under Spider-Man director Jon Watts. However, he has recently left the project and left directing duties unassigned. There is every possibility that the panel will provide an update about when filming will start or release windows.
Echo Displays a Preview

Either Echo or Secret Invasion appear poised to be the first Disney+ series of 2023 and the MCU’s next live-action series after this summer’s She-Hulk. Both projects have seen a lot of filming so there is a chance they will each be present. The Hollywood Reporter has just revealed the involvement of Kingpin and Daredevil in Echo ,, so perhaps this will become an official part of the panel along with an exclusive trailer for attendees.
Secret Invasion Delivers News

Secret Invasion looks far more complex than Echo ;. Despite having finished, this Skrull-centric series will be subject to a staggering four months worth of reshoots. This means there will be significant changes in the plot and show. There won’t likely to be any footage. Maybe the cast might come onstage and the secret roles of Olivia Coleman and Emilia Clarke will be revealed to the public.
Captain America 4 Goes Official

Following The Falcon , Anthony Mackie has now confirmed that Sam Wilson will be the MCU’s Captain America. Mackie was confirmed as the Captain America4 director in the very near future. Malcolm Spellman, a Disney+ writer, is also onboard to write the script. Julius Onah will be directing. Comic-Con will announce the sequel with the title and release date. Fans are safe to assume that the Winter Soldier’s return is announced.
Thunderbolts Gets Announced

The Thunderbolts, effectively Marvel’s Suicide Squad, have been an ongoing topic of debate. Many believed that the MCU was on the right track. Now, a Thunderbolts movie has been confirmed, Jake Schreier is on board to direct, and Black Widow co-writer Eric Pearson is penning the script, with plans to shoot in 2023. Feige should give Thunderbolts an official release date during the panel due to the rapid development. He may also confirm some of the villains.
Ryan Reynolds takes the stage

Recent months saw a significant increase in media coverage regarding the progress of Deadpool3 ,, with both the original writers and Shawn Levy (Free Guy ) taking over. Production preparation is reportedly underway, indicating shooting ought to begin in the coming months, likely for a 2024 release. Comic-Con could be where Feige addresses the film and confirms the release date. It almost certainly will bring Ryan Reynolds onstage.
Another Crazy Casting Announcement

Even though most of 2019’s Comic-Con reveals had been rumored or leaked before the panel, Feige delivered a shocking revelation in the final moments as he brought Mahershala Ali along to confirm Blade. After the reactions that were achieved, he may seek to do the same for 2022 with another jaw-dropping hero casting such as Wolverine or Ghost Rider – for which Taron Egerton and Norman Reedus have respectively been heavily discussed.

Avengers 5 Goes Official

With a whole new saga underway following Endgame, fans are naturally eager to see where this new era of the MCU is heading, naturally being Avengers 5. Whether that culmination point is Secret Wars or not, Feige out to offer more clues as he teased that there will soon be a clearer idea of “where this whole saga is going:”
” I believe there are many clues that have already been given, at least to my knowledge, about where the story is heading. We’ll make it a bit clearer in the next months to outline a strategy so that audiences with larger visions can view a small, but significant, portion of the roadmap .”
.
If Avengers finally becomes official, which is very likely, it will most likely come with an indeterminate release date and some rough ideas of the content, to give audiences a sense of the direction that Phase 4 is heading.
2023 Disney+ Series Make Announcements

Ironheart, Armor Wars, and Agatha: House of Harkness are all set for release across 2023 and 2024, but none have filmed enough to show any footage at the panel. These shows will not be present, so they are unlikely to appear on the panel. They may only bring the cast to stage to give a few teases and raise expectations.
Jonathon Majors’ Kang the Conqueror Unveiled

Jonathon Minors was the MCU’s first appearance as He Who Remains, in Loki ,. He will now be playing the role of Kang the Conqueror on AntMan and the Wasp – Quantumania .. Although it is possible that footage from the shrinking sequel may be shown, there are less chances that Kang in his live action suit will be seen, even though there has been a leak. Perhaps there’ll be concept art.
Introducing the X-Men

Male Marvel fans eagerly awaited rumors of X-Men’s revival since Fox’s X-Men series began to decline. Kevin Feige confirmed the studio was working on the X-Men back at 2019’s panel, so perhaps they may finally now have a film or series to announce with a rough release window. The reboot had been titled “The Mutants” at the time. “
New Heroes Take the Streaming Spotlight

Daredevil and Wonder Man series are now confirmed to be being in production for Disney+. Chris Ord and Matt Corman are working together on the Daredevil revival. ShangChi director Destin Dan Cretton works on Wonder Man ; is still in development with little definitive news. There’s a chance these series may be announced at Comic-Con, but could equally be saved for Disney+ Day or D23 in September.
Blockbusters Get Disney+ Spin-Offs

In addition to the new Disney+ heroes, Disney+ has spin-offs for Wakanda as well as the Ten Rings. Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is working on his Wakanda project, while Shang-Chi‘s Destin Daniel Cretton is developing The Ten Rings – which will presumably center around Meng’er Zhang’s Xialing. These series have been in development for some time, so maybe this year they’ll finally come to fruition with the confirmation of their stars.
Where does Phase 4 end?

Marvel Studios has already released 12 projects in Phase 4 – six films and six series – making it the longest block in the MCU yet. Kevin Feige is still unsure of where Phase 4 and Phase 5 end, but Comic-Con could be the moment when this will become clearer.
Wild Picks
Fantastic 4 Cast and Director

After Jon Watts’ departure as Spider-Man director, Marvel Studios has been looking for a replacement director. There have been many casting rumours. There’s every chance Comic-Con may be the place fans discover Fantastic Four‘s replacement director and cast, but with Watts’ departure still being so fresh, that information is more likely to come later in the year at D23 in advance of filming.
Marvel Studios Big On Sequels

After finding success with Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange 2, and Eternals, sequels will almost certainly be in the works for each. These sequels, however, may not be ready for release yet as the film’s oldest is just a year old. Guardians of the Galaxy vol. The announcement of 2 before the original was released may have been premature, but it’s possible that there will be vague information to confirm the existence of sequels.
Disney+ Announces Season 2

On the subject of sequels, Marvel Studios might finally reveal second seasons of some of its Disney+ shows. Moon Knight is still being promoted in the Emmy Awards’ “Outstanding Limited Series”. This makes any Egyptian news very unlikely. Hawkeye recently changed its category to “Outstanding Comedy series,” possibly indicating that Season 2 is in the making. Ms. Marvel will likely be too fresh from Season 1’s finale to make any announcements. Hawkeye is the most plausible candidate for a Season 2.
Scarlet Witch Goes Solo

Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch is still a popular character in the MCU, even though her hero status has been lost after Multiverse of Madness . Many believe Wanda is still alive, despite her apparent death during the Doctor Strange sequel. Although there is every possibility that this could be true, her sudden death makes it difficult to reveal her film or undermine the sacrifice she made.
New Team Name Drop

As Marvel Studios introduces new heroes for every project, there is much speculation about which teams might be joining the MCU. The discussion is constantly dominated by the Young Avengers, Midnight Sons and other supernatural characters. Although it is too early to anticipate projects around these teams in the future, Kevin Feige can namedrop one to let fans that they are working on them.
Make Sure to Manage Expectations

Don’t expect to be informed about Spider-Man’s future. Sony still controls the wall-crawler. Any announcements about Spider-Man4 and the evil spin-offs should be made at its own panel. Tom Holland, meanwhile, is yet to renew his contract.
Fans should expect to be disappointed at all the major panels. Marvel Studios isn’t even going to reveal everything coming in the next few years, as it preserves some announcements for Disney+ Day and Disney’s D23 panel in September.
Looking back to 2019, Feige revealed the majority of Phase 4’s early projects at Comic-Con, then added a few additional series at D23, while revealing major casting and new details on previously announced ventures. Fans will have a lot of fun at this panel if a similar theme is revealed this year.
Marvel Studios’ San Diego Comic-Con panel will take place on Saturday, July 23; an animation-focussed panel will be held on Friday, July 22 at 11: 45 am PT. Both events are not expected to live stream online.
