Marvel has announced Spider-Man The Lost Hunt as a new series by J.M. At the SDCC, Dematteis and Eder Mesias explore the origins Kraven the Hunter.
Marvel will explore Kraven the Hunter’s mysterious origins in a new Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt series.
Announced at San Diego Comic-Com (SDCC), Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt is a new five-issue limited series from writer J.M. Dematteis, and Eder Messias as the artist. This series will be available in November and answer questions from fans about Kraven’s history as a hunter. It also features Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and Mary Jane Watson.

The synopsis for Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt reads, “J.M. DEMATTEIS is continuing to weave new webs in the past. This time, DEMATTEIS teamed up with EDER MESSIAS. We will be revealing secrets and solving mysteries that Spidey fans had been waiting for. A man from Kraven’s past follows PETER PAKER and MARIE JANE as they prepare to move into their new home in Portland. What is the purpose of this mysterious man and who are they looking for with SPIDERMAN? We will be back in the period following SPIDERMAN: THE FINAL VENTURE, when Peter Parker was powerless! “

Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Kraven the Hunter first appeared in 1964’s The Amazing Spider-Man #15. Kraven, a regular in Spider-Man’s rogues’ gallery of villains is a big-game hunter obsessed with killing Spider-Man. His highly-acclaimed 1987 “Kraven’s Last Hunt” storyline by J.M. DeMatteis and Mike Zeck see the villain almost succeed, but Spider-Man manages to escape from the grave Kraven traps and defeats the enemy. Kraven the Hunter will be played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Sony’s upcoming Kraven the Hunter live-action film, which is scheduled to release in Jan. 2023.
Along with Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt, Kraven will soon come after the X-Men in X-Force #30. Written by Benjamin Percy with art by Robert Gill, the synopsis for X-Force #30, which releases July 27, reads, “The Hunt for X. The synopsis for X-Force #30 reads, “X-Force has taken some lumps, but a new era begins as old-school X-Forcer Wade Wilson makes his grand return! He is a great man, and it’s also a necessity for the team. X-Force has to be able to deal with the aftermath of the Hellfire Gala, the revelations about A.X.E. JUDGMENT DAY Learn why Kraven, the Hunter was involved in the beginning of a groundbreaking story line titled “The Hunt for X .”
