Marvel SNAP announces 16 new cards are coming to the trading card-playing game including She-Hulk, Titania, Shuri, Agent Coulson and the Helicarrier.
Marvel SNAP announced the multiple new cards that will be joining the mobile card game in the next update.
Announced via a direct update from Marvelsnap.com, the incoming Series 4 cards are considered rare, and 10 of the new additions make up their ranks. These include She-Hulk, Titania, Luke Cage, Absorbing Man, Maria Hill, Agent Coulson, the Helicarrier, M’Baku, Attuma and Orka. Their energy costs span one through six with varying power levels. Their effects also cover a wide range of playstyles with some spawning new cards, copying previously used effects or benefitting from going solo on a location.
Beyond that, players can also look forward to Series 5 cards, which are described as “Ultra Rare” and cost the most in the newly-unveiled Token Shop at 6000 tokens compared to the Series 4 cards at 3,000 tokens. This batch consists of six cards featuring Galactus, Valkryie, Super Skrull, Shuri, Bast and Thanos. However, with Thanos added, the six Infinity Stones can also be added to a SNAP deck. This brings the total number of new cards to 22. The Series 5 cards lean towards higher energy costs, four or higher, with a few exceptions in the form of Bast and the Infinity Stones which all cost one energy. Thanos has the highest raw power at eight, but the ultra-rare cards each have powerful, deck-defining effects.
As a whole, Marvel SNAP‘s next update is a response to feedback from players, with many calling for a way to pick specific cards to add to their decks. This feedback has culminated in the Token Shop, a system that allows gamers to purchase cards they want, and Collector’s Tokens, the resource required to purchase them.
The current season of SNAP is coming to a close with its run of the Black Panther-themed Warriors of Wakanda. The next season, The Power Cosmic, arrives sometime in December 2022. In a teaser hosted by Marvel SNAP creative director Ben Brode, he discussed the features and cards previously mentioned, as well as a free gift of 3,000 tokens to whoever reaches a Collection Level of 500. It is at this level that the Token Shop will become available to players.
