Hasbro Pulse reveals a new Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure included in an upcoming wave of X-Men figures available for pre-order on Jan. 10, 2023.
Hasbro Pulse has revealed its next Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure to be an iconic X-Men character, Ch’od.
Hasbro Pulse announced on Instagram that Ch’od was getting a new, massive Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure. The caption reads, “#MarvelLegends fans – here’s your FIRST LOOK at the new Ch’od Build-A-Figure included in the upcoming Marvel Legends X-Men wave available for pre-order tomorrow [Jan. 10, 2023] at 1: 00pm ET on #HasbroPulse! Stay tuned for more!” The figure also comes with a miniature version of Ch’od’s ferret-like pet, Cr’reee.
Who Is the X-Men’s Ch’od?
Created by Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum, Ch’od first appeared in 1977’s X-Men #104 along with Cr’reee and the rest of the Starjammers. A galactic team of space pirates who initially met one another as slaves of the Shi’ar Empire, the Starjammers original line-up also included Hepzibah, Raza Longknife and the team’s leader, Corsair. In the years that followed, the Starjammers accompanied one another on a number of missions, including joining a war against the Brood and working with the X-Men to stand against the Shi’ar Empire. Other past Starjammers members have included Cyclops and his brother Havok, Korvus, Polaris, Marvel Girl, Binary, Charles Xavier and others, though some have remained on the team longer than others.
Hasbro and Marvel Legends Recent X-Men Figures
Ch’od isn’t the only X-Men character who was recently announced to be getting a new Hasbro Pulse Marvel Legends figure. In Dec. 2022, Hasbro announced a series of fan-favorite Uncanny X-Men characters would be released in a wave of action figures in early 2023. Included in the first of two box sets are Psylocke, Banshee and Gambit, all of whom are wearing the outfits the X-Men wore when rescuing Professor Charles Xavier from the Shi’ar Empire in Uncanny X-Men #275 (by Claremont, Jim Lee, Scott Williams, Tom Orzechowski, and Oliver Rosas).
The second box set comes with Storm, Forge and a bubblegum-chewing Jubilee, all of whom are also wearing their Uncanny X-Men #275 uniforms. Wolverine is also getting a separate, standalone figure which sees him similarly dressed and showcases his claws popped out on one hand and retracted on the other. Additionally, Hasbro previously announced Rogue and the Blob were getting figures as part of the X-Men line.
