The introduction of Disney+ allows the creative minds at Marvel Studios to create new stories. The streaming aspect of the MCU now has six series that are live and directly connected to the main narrative.
Veteran character like Vision, Sam Bucky, Loki and Sam all received significantly more screentime than their prior big screen appearances. The Disney+ app introduced new characters such as Sylvie and Moon Knight, Sylvie, John Walker, Sylvie and Kate Bishop.
The live-action streaming video has been used as an ancillary (but vital) story to the main screen tale. Marvel Studios’ streaming content isn’t the only one. The animated side is available.
With shows such as WandaVision and Falcon & The Winter Soldier (Loki, Hawkeye), Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel adding depth, What if …? has provided a glimpse into the many facets of this universe. Because has an alternate universe, …?, viewers can meet characters that are not in the live-action series. As Captain Carter appearing in an episode of the show, then returning to it in Doctor Strange in The Multiverse Of Madness.
What If..? allows viewers to see characters whose journeys have ended in live action.
Scarlett Witch Returns to What If …??
Episode 1 of Season 2 of What if..? was shown at the Marvel Studios Animation panel at San Diego Comic-Con. has been shown. This episode features Captain Carter, Season 1’s breakout star. It will premiere as “What If Captain Carter Fought the Hydra Stomper?”
Elizabeth Olsen is credited with returning to Scarlet Witch in the episode’s opening credits. Ending the episode is a tag that reveals Wanda, the villain previously known as. Olsen will return to the MCU for the first time since the death of her character in Doctor Strange At The Multiverse Of Madness.
This is exciting news as it will mark Elizabeth Olsen’s animation debut in the MCU. Although Zombie Scarlet Witch is a key player in the What if… Zombies!? season 1 episode. Olsen didn’t have to give her voice to this character. In season 2, viewers will be able to see Wanda Maximoff walking and talking in What if..?
Wanda Vs Peggy: Part II?
This is good news for Wanda Maximoff lovers. Wanda Maximoff’s descent into madness was one of the best-developed storylines in all the MCU. Viewers watched as she became a powerful and violent villain in Doctor Strange . This character arch is rivaled by Daenerys Tarrayen.
At the end of Multiverse of Madness’ final act, her death was met by much speculation about the character’s future. A powerful death which redeems the character. The death is met by a puffing of red smoke, which opens the possibility of the Scarlet Witch returning at any time.
Many MCU fans are excited to hear Elizabeth Olsen reprise her role as Scarlett Witch in the other-world version. Peggy Carter fans are in panic mode, though.
Captain Carter was one of few bright spots from Season 1 of What if..? Her appearance in Multiverse of Madness only confirmed what die-hard Peggy fanatics have known for years: Captain Carter is badass.
Despite her ability to transfer her badassness into animation and live-action, however, she ran into an opponent in the form of a Scarlet Witch, a dream-walking Scarlet Witch.
The rematch of Season 2 of What if..? could offer Peggy the chance to take Scarlett Witch home. Marvel Studios showrunners had to prioritize “more Peggy”. It is hard to believe that fans will be forced through the death of Wanda Maximoff.
What If..? The premiere of Season 2 will be in early 2023.
