The Marvel Cinematic Universe has several trends and tropes, but one of its most unspoken involves the actors portraying many of the shared universe’s villains. Since the first sequel to the original Thor movie, numerous actors that once portrayed the titular Time Lord on Doctor Who have taken on far darker roles in the MCU. From Malekith to Milo, there are tons of MCU and MCU-adjacent bad guys played by men who once piloted the TARDIS.

Recently, these fellow Doctors have been joined by a woman, with Jodie Whittaker portraying the first female version of the Time Lord. Her tenure in the role is now up, so it’s the perfect time for her to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a villain in an upcoming film. Given all the dastardly ladies in Marvel Comics, there are quite a few that Whittaker might do a great job at playing.

Jodie Whittaker Could Portray Amora the Enchantress in Thor 5

Amora the Enchantress

One Thor villain who still hasn’t been brought to the big screen yet is Amora the Enchantress. A magical villainess who has a bit of a thing for Thor, the Enchantress employs magic in a way that could easily differ from Loki and Hela in previous films. Her combination of spunk and tenacity would gel well with the energy that Jodie Whittaker brought to the role of the Thirteenth Doctor, all the while inverting it for a much less heroic character.

Thor 5 hasn’t been announced yet, and that’s if the movie is ever made. The ending of Thor: Love and Thunder, however, paved the way for the God of Thunder to go toe to toe with other pantheons. Enchantress could easily slot into this by making things harder for Thor, all before allying herself with him when the chips are down. Like most Asgardians, she shares her people’s faux-British speech, meaning that Whitaker wouldn’t even need to change her accent. It’s suspected that the character was one of the many cut elements from the series’ fourth movie, so bringing in Jodie Whittaker to play her in the fifth could finally do her justice.

Emma Frost Is the Quintessential British Role for Jodie Whittaker

When it comes to British Marvel characters, easily the most iconic is Emma Frost. Though Emma Frost isn’t actually British, her posh attitude and arrogance are absolutely authentic. Originally introduced as the White Queen of the Hellfire Club’s Inner Circle, Emma became part of this elitist mutant group after a series of tragedies. A sort of female equivalent to Charles Xavier, she boasts psychic powers and runs the mutant-training Massachusetts Academy, analogous to his School for Gifted Youngsters. The Inner Circle and the idea of a mutant elite trying to sway power away from humanity would be a great idea for the MCU X-Men, helping to somewhat explain where the species is and why they’re still unknown.

Whereas the Doctor is known for generally being friendly and helpful, Emma Frost is fittingly cold, calculating and cutting. Nevertheless, she has a passion for her students and others whom she cares for. Such a role would definitely be the opposite of the Doctor for Jodie Whittaker, much like David Tennant’s version of Purple Man in Jessica Jones. Similar depth could allow Whitaker to make Emma Frost just as fun to watch, not to mention make her eventual transition to heroism even more rewarding.

Jodie Whittaker Could Portray a Potentially Major Armor Wars Villain

Marvel

Another role that would break Whittaker out of her image as the Doctor is that of Sunset Bain. An enemy of Iron Man and, to a lesser extent, Machine Man, Sunset Bain is a ruthless businesswoman known for stealing and selling schematics of enemy hardware. This idea would fit perfectly in the events of the upcoming TV series-turned-movie Armor Wars, in which the deceased Tony Stark’s technology falls into the wrong hands. Considering so many of Iron Man’s rogues were never adapted to the big screen, it’d be great to see ones like Sunset Bain brought into the MCU in what’s essentially an Iron Man coda.

Incredibly slippery and manipulative, Sunset Bain would allow Jodie Whittaker to invert much of her Doctor Who performance. Likewise, the character herself similarly inverts Tony Stark’s string of male business rivals, with Bain being the only one to survive beyond Stark. This sets up Sunset Bain and her company Baintronics to be a huge threat to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Jodie Whittaker Could Bring Red Skull’s Daughter to the Big Screen

Captain America Sin Red Skull

One character whose mythology has definitely been underdeveloped in the MCU is Captain America. His own allies on the Avengers were bigger enemies throughout Captain America: Civil War than Crossbones, who was killed off fairly quickly. An enemy of Cap’s who’d make a great MCU addition is Sin, the daughter of Red Skull. Having been brainwashed into Red Skull’s ideology, she would act in his stead whenever circumstances — or Captain America himself — took Johann Shmidt out of the picture.

With the character being an underrated Marvel villainess, Jodie Whittaker would have just the right amount of star power to put the spotlight on Sin by playing her in a movie. The Captain America film franchise also desperately needs a member of Cap’s actual villains since — for some reason — the titular hero is going up against Hulk nemesis The Leader in Captain America: New World Order. Introducing Sin as the real power behind the film’s supposed “new world order” would make it a true entry in the Captain America series, all the while possibly setting the character up to lead the Serpent Society in a sequel. Playing the redheaded daughter of a Nazi super-soldier might be the farthest thing from playing the Doctor, which is partially why Jodie Whittaker would fit the role so well.
