Riri Williams has been a hero within the Marvel Universe for a while now, and in that time she’s made a number of important allies both inside and outside the superhero community as Ironheart. During her time with the Champions, she’s made friends with some of the most important new heroes within the Marvel Universe.
But those aren’t her only close allies, as she maintains a connection with her mentor Tony Stark and his company Stark Unlimited, while also having established ties within Wakanda. As a superhero whose made a lot of enemies quickly, it’s probably for the best that she gets along with so many people.
10/10 Silhouette Helped Ironheart On One Of Her Most Important Missions
Silhouette is a former member of the superhero team the New Warriors, but her most recent appearance saw her helping Riri and Shuri. While Riri was on a mission in Wakanda to shut down the Ten Rings organization, she ran into Silhouette, who wanted to stop her brother, Midnight’s Fire.
Though the two didn’t spend a lot of time together, they worked well on what was easily Riri’s most important mission yet. In the end, the two parted as friends, and has become an ally that Riri can count on in the future.
9/10 Viv Vision Helped Ironheart Build Her Current Armor
Riri and Viv have an interesting history with one another. While the two were originally just teammates, things got a little awkward between them when Viv kissed her without asking. While Viv was just trying to explore her own attraction to humans, it caused a rift between the two for a time.
Viv was able to apologize honestly though, with Riri accepting it and the two reaffirming their friendship as a result. Aside from that though, Viv was there to comfort Riri after she was nearly killed by Thanos, and she helped Riri come up with improvements for her current Ironheart armor.
8/10 Miles Morales Is A Good Friend Though Not Riri’s Favorite Person
It’s safe to say Riri and Miles Morales aren’t best friends forever material. Riri finds Miles’s personality aggravating, and hasn’t exactly been shy about saying so. That said, Riri still views him as a good friend, good enough to find him after he’d been missing for several weeks.
Her search led her to be trapped in a stable time loop with Miles until they used teamwork to escape, and fight against the enemy who’d trapped Miles there in the first place. Their mutual respect makes them into a reliable duo when it comes to fighting crime, even if they don’t spend a lot of time together.
7/10 Brawn Is A Scientist Ironheart Sees As An Equal
Riri made friends with Brawn when she joined the Champions. Since Brawn was a founding member, she’s worked alongside him for most of the time she’s been on the team. Though Brawn can be a bit off-putting thanks to his jock-like behavior, they still count on each other when they’re in battle.
And since Amadeus Cho is a genius, they’re also able to share notes on scientific discoveries. Brawn was one of the first people to see Riri’s upgraded Ironheart suit, and was the most eager to see what she could do with it.
6/10 Wasp Shared Notes On How To Run A Lab
Nadia Van Dyne is one of Riri’s friends from her time with the Champions. Thanks to their time together, the two have learned they have a lot in common, with the Wasp even visiting Riri at her lab.
The two have been known to share ideas together, and even went on a mission where they fought zombies together. The Wasp trusts Riri enough to have shared some of the closely-guarded Pym Particles with her, which helped Riri save the world during a mission in Wakanda.
5/10 Ms. Marvel Shares A Girl Night With Riri And Shuri
It’s not hard to believe Riri and Ms. Marvel would get along. The two of them are both superheroes and Riri has worked with Kamala as a member of the Champions. Plus, Kamala gets along with everyone.
The two might not go on a bunch of missions together, but they’ve come to spend lots of time together outside their time as heroes. In fact, Kamala, Shuri, and Riri get together every six months for a girls night in an apartment in Chicago. Unfortunately for Riri, she’s never been able to beat Kamala at video games.
4/10 Tony Stark Is Still Riri Williams’s Mentor Figure
Though Riri doesn’t spend as much time with Tony as other young heroes, it doesn’t mean the two haven’t developed a friendship. Tony was aware of Riri from the moment she proved capable of reverse-engineering his armor.
When she developed a more complex armor that required an artificial intelligence, it was Tony Stark who gave her an AI she could use…though it was based on his personality. Considering Riri is smarter than most super-geniuses, Riri doesn’t need as much guidance as most younger heroes. Still, Stark is always around to support her when necessary, and trusts her enough to let her do her own thing.
3/10 Shuri Learned To Have Respect For Ironheart
Shuri and Riri’s first meeting, admittedly, didn’t go well. Riri was too business-focused, and Shuri didn’t take her seriously since she was a new hero. But it didn’t take long before they both learned they had some common ground. The two of them are both stubborn and independent, and willing to do anything to help other people.
Though they didn’t get along at first, by the end of Riri’s time in Wakanda, Shuri acknowledged Riri as a great hero. By the end of the mission, Shuri awarded Riri with the Circlet of Bast, Wakanda’s highest honor, proclaiming Riri would always have a home in Wakanda.
2/10 N.A.T.A.L.I.E. Is Designed To Be Exactly The Friend Riri Needs
It might be weird for Riri to have an A.I. as one of her closest friends, but Riri was never normal to begin with. After upgrading to the Model 3, Riri designed an A.I. that could scan someone’s memories and come up with the perfect partner. What she wound up with was N.A.T.A.L.I.E., an artificial intelligence based on the best friend she lost as a kid.
Much like Riri’s Tony Stark A.I., N.A.T.A.L.I.E. is capable of thinking for herself and offering Riri advice based on the current situation. Like any good friend, she looks out for Riri’s mental state, and is a necessary ally whether she’s out in the field or living her daily life.
1/10 Xavier Keeps Riri Feeling Normal Even As A Superhero
Riri’s closest ally is her best friend, Xavier King. Xavier isn’t a superhero, but that’s part of what makes him such a great friend for Riri. With Riri so frequently caught up in her own world, Xavier is around to help bring her back down to Earth.
With Riri spending so much time working on her inventions or getting lost in being a superhero, Xavier is around to help ground her. He’s also helped her solve crimes whenever he gets pulled into her adventures, making him a valuable ally outside the superhero community.
