Marvel launches a new ongoing series for Iron Man and a miniseries for Monica Rambeau, aka Photon during a new week of comic releases.
Iron Man’s brand-new series debuts alongside the new releases for Marvel Comics.
Written by Gerry Duggan and illustrated by Juan Frigeri, Invincible Iron Man launches on Wednesday. The title is Tony Stark’s new ongoing series following the conclusion of the previous Iron Man title in November. Now, Tony is about to hit rock bottom and go up against threats old and new, like X-Men villain Feilong, but he will have allies like Ironheart/Riri Williams and War Machine/James “Rhodey” Rhodes to help him through his latest struggles.
Tony isn’t the only Marvel hero getting a new title this week, being that Monica Rambeau is starring in a new miniseries. Written by Eve L. Ewing and illustrated by both Luca Maresca and Ivan Fiorelli, Monica Rambeau: Photon will be a five-issue series focusing on the hero as she goes on a new mission testing the heights her powers can go. The series arrives ahead of Monica’s next live-action appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s The Marvels film, a sequel to Captain Marvel (2019) releasing on July 28, 2023.
As for Marvel’s other new comics, Dark Web — a crossover event between the X-Men, Spider-Man and Venom — continues with the release of The Amazing Spider-Man #15 and Dark Web: X-Men #1. Meanwhile, the anthology one-shot Origins of Marvel Comics: Marvel Tales #1 collects classic stories of different Marvel heroes’ first appearances, such as the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and X-Men.
