Florence Pugh is disappointed that she couldn’t film Thunderbolts in Atlanta this summer, just like many Marvel fans.

Thunderbolts is a Marvel movie that features a team of anti-heroes, including Yelena Belova, played by Pugh. The movie was supposed to start production this summer in Atlanta, where many MCU movies have been filmed. However, the movie was delayed due to the strikes by the writers and actors unions, which affected many Hollywood projects.

Pugh talked about her unexpected summer break in an Elle interview with her friend and fellow actress Jodie Turner-Smith. She didn’t mention the movie by name, but she said:

“Hi, baby. I adore you! I’m good. It’s been an interesting summer. I was supposed to work for six months in Atlanta, and it’s all just gone. So, I’m adjusting to that. It’s bizarre being this free.”

Pugh was probably looking forward to playing Yelena again and working with her co-stars Sebastian Stan and David Harbour, who play Bucky Barnes and Red Guardian, respectively. She was also probably excited to explore Atlanta and enjoy its culture and attractions. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen and she had to wait for the movie to resume filming.

Thunderbolts is now scheduled to be released on December 20, 2024. It is not clear when the movie will start filming again, but hopefully it will be soon.

While Pugh was unable to film Thunderbolts this summer, she did have some other work to keep her busy. She appeared in Christopher Nolan’s biopic Oppenheimer as Jean Tatlock, a physicist and lover of J. Robert Oppenheimer. The movie is now playing in theaters and has received positive reviews. Pugh will also star in Dune: Part Two as Princess Irulan, the daughter of the Emperor of the Known Universe. The movie is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Dune, which was released in 2021. Dune: Part Two will hit theaters on March 15, 2024. Pugh will also be in a romantic comedy called We Live in Time with Andrew Garfield, who she recently hung out with.

Fans of Pugh can watch her movies and also read more about her in Marvel’s new book Look Out For The Little Guy!, which is written by Scott Lang himself. The book has more stories and insights about the MCU heroes.

If you want to see more Marvel movies, you can check out The Marvels, which is the sequel to Captain America: Civil War. The movie will be released on November 10, 2023.
