Disney+ Replaces Tony Stark with Norman Osborn in New Spider-Man Show

The MCU’s Spider-Man is well-known for being controversial due to its many changes. Many were unhappy that Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) was chosen to be Peter Parker’s father, mentor and suit-builder.

With Stark now after Avengers Endgame , The MCU is now taking steps to allow Spider-Man to stand by himself. They have erased his memory, replaced his advanced suit with a homemade version, and downgraded him to a nasty apartment in New York.

When Peter Parker was first introduced to the MCU by Captain America Civil War ,, the high-schooler already had gone through the famous origin story of Spider-Man. That story was set to be told in the Spider-Man: Freshman Year animated series on Disney+, but 2022’s Comic-Con has revealed some surprising twists on his tale.

Spider-Man Disney+ Series Introduces MCU Norman Osborn

During the Marvel Studios animated panel at San Diego-Comic Con in San Diego, Osborn confirmed that Peter Parker will be mentored by Norman Osborn in Spider-Man Freshman Year .

A shot from the Spider-Man series confirms Osborn will be waiting for Parker at his house alongside Aunt May, similar to how Tony Stark did in Captain America: Civil War.

Marvel Studios has claimed the series will follow Peter Parker “on his way to becoming Spider-Man” in the MCU “before [Captain America: Civil War].” The official synopsis reads:

” The animated series follows Peter Parker as he journeys to become Spider-Man in Marvel Comics. It features a unique storyline and celebrates Peter Parker’s comic-book roots. Jeff Trammel is the Executive Producer. “

With Spider-Man Having discovered that Oscorp does not exist in the MCU who knows if Freshman year really takes place on the main timeline.
