The Disney Channel is soon to have a Marvel series of its own. Moon Girl, and Devil Dinosaur , are animated shows that cater to children. They were based off the Marvel Comics. Luna Lafayette, a young girl, is the star of this animated series. She uses her superior intellect to help bring the red-t-Rex-like Devil Dinosaur into modern-day New York.
The series features a star cast of guest stars, which was announced at San Diego Comic-Con. Luiz Guzman and Alison Brie will each lend their voices for various episodes of Moon Girl’s and Devil Dinosaur ‘s inaugural seasons.
Now considering that this project was made solely for Disney Channel, without involvement from Marvel Studios, it would be easy to assume that there is no connection with the MCU. However, a tweet sent by an official account clearly indicates the contrary.
Moon Girl Series “Complementary” to MCU

According to a live-tweeting of the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con panel for Disney Channel and Marvel’s upcoming animated program, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, it was stated during said panel that the show is “complementary to the MCU.” and ” viewers may be able find Easter eggs in this series. “
A first glimpse at the series can also be seen, which you can view below:
What MCU Connections Might Be Present?
So, it’s probably extremely safe to say that even though Moon Girl will be “complementary” to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it definitely isn’t set in it. The MCU’s Earth-616 has, so far, been a strictly live-action affair, with each and every installment produced and overseen by studio president Kevin Feige.
This is not to suggest that the series doesn’t contain some interesting connective elements to MCU. It could be even explained as part of larger MCU Multiverse. Marvel Studios is at the center of a Multiverse-focused story arc.
There are many actors in the Moon Girl MCU. Cobie Smulders has been a regular voice actor for Maria Hill. This suggests that the show may be playing with Multiversal tropes.
Also, Laurence Fishburne (who has portrayed MCU characters before) is set to guest star in Moon Girl, and Devil Dinosaur .. Wesley Snipes, a Marvel-affiliated actor who starred in Blade in the trilogy of non MCU movies produced by New Line Cinema is another notable member of this guest cast.
It’s possible that Marvel Studios may one day decide to include this pair of characters in the MCU and make them part of a Disney+ series, or even a film of their own.
Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur doesn’t yet have an announced release date, but it’s expected to premiere on The Disney Channel sometime in 2023.
