After becoming the biggest female-led superhero movie in the United States, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to make history again after Disney+ announced a special new documentary for the MCU sequel.
Black Panther 2 had several accolades recently. The sequel earned six pre-Oscar nominations for 2022 while Angela Bassett previously won a Golden Globe for her performance as Queen Ramonda.
Not only that but Black Panther 2 also made history by being the first MCU flick to receive its own podcast. Now, another history-making moment for the sequel has surfaced.
Disney+ Makes History with First Ever MCU Documentary
Disney+ officially announced Voices Rising: The Music of Wakanda Forever, a full documentary series celebrating the music of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
This announcement makes MCU history as this is the first Marvel Studios movie to receive its own full documentary series.
The upcoming original series is set to arrive on Disney+ on Wednesday, February 22.

Disney+ has announced its first ever Marvel docuseries, titled “Marvel Studios: Assembled”. This unprecedented collaboration will give fans insight into the making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films.
“Marvel Studios: Assembled” will offer viewers a closer look into the Marvel Studios process. From pre-production to release and beyond, audiences will have an inside view of the grueling yet thrilling journey of making an MCU film.
As an added bonus, each episode of “Marvel Studios: Assembled” will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with the films’ stars and filmmakers, and never-before-seen vignettes. It will serve as a must-watch for the millions of Marvel fans around the world.
The filmmakers behind the MCU films aren’t the only ones being showcased in “Marvel Studios: Assembled”. Each episode will also feature an up-and-coming artist from the Marvel community. Their stories as they create a comic book masterpiece will be explored.
