In a few months, Marvel Studios will revisit the world of Wakanda in the MCU with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the franchise’s 30th movie since 2008. Despite the pandemic-induced difficulties that the MCU is currently experiencing, Black Panther2 still has to deal with much bigger problems after the tragic loss of Chadwick Boseman.
Boseman passed away in August 2020 after battling colon cancer, partially turning Black Panther 2 into a tribute to the actor’s legacy in the MCU as T’Challa departs in the story. Letitia Wright’s Shuri, and DanaiGurira’s Okoye are other key characters. However, there is still not much information about the final outcome.
As Marvel makes its presence felt at San Diego-Comic-Con 2022, anticipation is building to see what comes in the first trailer that was confirmed to arrive during Marvel’s epic Saturday night panel.
Now that the panel has been officially revealed, Marvel Studios gave the fandom a first glimpse of the MCU panels as Black Panther is back in the spotlight.
Black Panther II Trailer Revealed
During Marvel Studios’ presentation in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it shared the first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

This trailer included a nod to the late Chadwick Boseman, who starred as T’Challa in the first Black Panther movie in 2018. The image of his fallen king was immortalized on an art piece placed in Wakanda’s streets.

Almost all the stars of the original movie were prominently featured in the trailer. The Jabari leader was seen as he sat on his throne, his eyes fixed on the ground.

Lupita Nyong’o is back in the footage, playing Nakia. She will be grieving the death of T’Challa throughout the majority of the film.

Michaela Cole makes her MCU debut in the role of Aneka. She has strong connections with Dora Milaje from Marvel Comics:

The trailer was also focused heavily on Atlantis’ inclusion in the MCU. It showed off its military might and underwater power. Tenoch Huerta played Namor, the Sub-Mariner. He finally appeared as an aquatic warrior in the trailer:

Huerta can be seen in another view from the front, giving a complete look at his features and the Atlantean attire he will wear in the movie. This scene shows him on his knees, but it is not clear where or with whom he is.

This also seems to be the first glimpse at Namora (the Atlantean king’s cousin):

In a thrilling scene, the last shot of the trailer featured the return to life of the vibranium Black Panther suit. Marvel has yet to reveal the identity of the man wearing the suit, but the outfit features a brand new design with claws emerging from the hands. The most surprising part?

“Have I not given everything?! “
To put it another way, the trailer is a firecracker from an emotional perspective and the action in Black Panther : Wakanda Forever .
Chadwick Borseman is given a moving tribute by a large piece of street art that depicts King T’Challa looking over his loved ones from the afterlife. It’s not the only mention of the actor’s iconic role, considering the depth this trailer’s music was, which featured a Bob Marley version of “No Woman, No Cry.” “
It also brought back almost every supporting character from the first Black Panther ,, who caused a lot of emotion in the crowd as they continue the legacy of the hero. The emotional scenes of Angela Bassett’s Ramonda crying out to her family about how she has given all, while Shuri and Okoye fight for the country’s survival will bring back many fond memories.
Even more thrilling is Tenoch Huerta’s Namor’s debut in the MCU. This was due to a long-standing rights dispute with Universal Studios. After years of speculations, Atlantis will be finally explored in Black Panther2 . Huerta adds a new leader and warrior to the mix.
Fans got to see Riri Williams, Dominique Thorne’s Riri. She shared a moment with Shuri at Wakanda’s underground laboratories. She’s said to be an important part of the plot before her own solo Ironheart Disney+ series in Fall 2023, and her ties to the Wakandans should be important to keep in mind moving forward.
All in all Ryan Coogler appears to have created a moving and exciting new adventure. This is the one that will close out Phase 4 of the MCU. Fans will soon see the tribute it makes to Chadwick Boseman, and how it propels the MCU story forward.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will debut in theaters on November 11.
