The following contains spoilers for Avengers Forever #11, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
The current Avengers series has been focused on amplifying some of Marvel’s strongest forces, highlighting which elements and legacies carry the most power in the grand scale of the multiverse. But now, it appears there’s one force in particular that has been confirmed to stand above the rest.
The Ghost Rider has always been one of Marvel’s strongest beings — but Avengers Forever #11 (by Jason Aaron, Jim Towe, Frank Martin, and VC’s Cory Petit) suggests that if he was fully unleashed, Robbie Reyes and the full might of the Ghost Rider could be the single strongest force in the Marvel Universe.
How Ghost Rider Fares Against The Masters Of Evil
One of the most dangerous threats posed in Avengers and Avengers Forever set the stage for the Multiversal Masters of Evil, a group of villains who wiped out their entire timelines. They’ve been making their way across the different dimensions, killing off the heroic legacy before it could create the Avengers of each world. In defiance, the mysterious Avenger Prime has been working to assemble a veritable army that could hold the line against the villains — with the Earth-616 Robbie Reyes at the forefront. A powerful Ghost Rider in his own right, Robbie has increasingly shown his true potential — especially once it was discovered that Robbie is the All-Rider, the most powerful version of the demonically empowered hero in the multiverse.
Seeing the danger posed by the Multiverse Masters of Evil, Robbie decides to fully embrace his role as the All-Rider and goes to confront the villains all on his own. By fully unleashing his abilities, Robbie proves surprisingly capable of handling the group. He quickly rips the symbiote off the Black Skull and uses it to halt the King Killmonger, beats down Ghost Goblin and Kid Thanos, and even holds Dark Phoenix at bay by dragging her across the world with his Hell-Charger. His powers are even strong enough to combat the Doom Supreme, who has previously proven to be strong enough to stand out against countless other variants of the premiere Marvel villain. The plan does come with a cost — as fully becoming the All-Rider would destroy all that remains of Robbie Reyes’ personality. But thanks to the sacrifice of Deathlok, Robbie is rescued and given the chance to fight again in the coming final battle.
Why Ghost Rider Might Be The Strongest Marvel Character
Becoming the All-Rider set the stage for Robbie to become the most powerful version of Ghost Rider in the multiverse, with even other variants of the Ghost Rider falling in line and speaking of Robbie in awe. But Robbie’s battle with the Masters of Evil seems to suggest that a fully untethered Ghost Rider is the strongest force in the Marvel Multiverse. With his power unleashed, the All-Rider is strong enough to burn through other magical forces, easily overpowering the Ghost Goblin and even giving the Doom Supreme a run for his money. Modern events have confirmed that the Ghost Rider is one of the fundamental forces of power in the Marvel Universe, one of the legacy roles crucial to the continued survival of the Marvel Universe. It also tracks with the history of the Ghost Rider — which has pitted the demonically enhanced hero against the Avengers plenty of times and seen the anti-hero be triumphant.
But even compared to something as destructive as the Phoenix Force, the mystical capabilities of the Sorcerer Supreme, or the might of Asgardian weaponry, the Ghost Rider seems to be the strongest. When he was becoming the All-Rider, Robbie wasn’t just able to handle the Masters of Evil on his own, he was able to do it with relative ease. The issue even notes that in the past, Robbie has used the Ghost Rider power to master the Power Cosmic and command symbiote — and those came without the full utilization of his power. Given the power level of those forces, this seems to suggest that the Ghost Rider — especially when freed of any restraints — might be the single most powerful force within the Marvel Universe, and able to handle the other most powerful forces all at the same time.
