The Batman Who Laughs is one of DC’s newest supervillains. He’s basically what you get when Bruce Wayne becomes uninhibited and insane like the Joker, which makes him a formidable and nightmarish villain.
To make things worse, in the recent Dark Nights: Death Metal comic book arc, he concocted a plan that gained him the powers of the nigh-omnipotent Doctor Manhattan. This elevates him among the most dangerous villains DC has ever had – as if he wasn’t quite scary already. He’s proven to be a challenge for DC’s heroes but how would Marvel’s best fare against the twisted Batman?
10/10 Beats Spider-Man
Even without Doctor Manhattan’s powers, The Batman Who Laughs would cause a lot of problems for Spider-Man. The hero’s Spider-Sense and superior physical attributes may allow him to gain a temporary advantage over The Batman Who Laughs but the latter’s unpredictability and adaptability in single combat would allow him to bide his time and come up with a plan.
Moreover, he doesn’t hesitate to kill like Batman and is willing to use extreme measures, like siccing cannibalistic Robins at his foes, in order to win.
9/10 Can’t Beat Thor
Thor’s godly abilities would be more than a match for The Batman Who Laughs. While the latter has the likely advantage in terms of intellect and strategizing. There is no substitute for Thor’s extensive combat experience, which spans eons, as well as his combined physical and magical might.
Thor has dealt with multiverse-level threats like The Batman Who Laughs before and he’s one of the few Marvel heroes who can defeat the villain single-handedly.
8/10 Beats Ironman
Tony Stark’s technology is superior to anything Bruce Wayne has ever used by far. Unfortunately, The Batman Who Laughs doesn’t rely solely on his own fighting skills and technology anymore to win a battle. He does whatever is necessary, and would likely resort to dark magic or other methods that would catch Ironman by surprise.
Even if Ironman summons an army of his automated armors in battle, The Batman Who Laughs would just obliterate them with his matter manipulating powers.
7/10 Can’t Beat Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze) / the King of Hell
The Batman Who Laughs thrives in the dark supernatural side of the DC universe but so does Johnny Blaze who’s recently taken over as the King of Hell.
With an army of souls, demons, and other agents of Hell as well as the powers of the Ghost Rider at his disposal, Blaze would be among the few Marvel heroes whom The Batman Who Laughs would hesitate to take on directly. Even if the two characters go one-on-one, Blaze is a powerhouse who can hold his own.
6/10 Beats Deadpool
Since Deadpool can’t really be killed and his awareness and constant breaking of the 4th wall afford him a certain level of plot armor, he presents unique challenges for The Batman Who Laughs whom The Merc With A Mouth once parodied while going on a nihilistic rant that mimics the villain’s twisted point of view.
Nevertheless, Deadpool would probably lose to The Batman Who Laughs every time because the villain has a variety of methods he can use, or he can just zap him with his Doctor Manhattan powers.
5/10 Can’t Beat Professor X
Professor X has one of the most formidable minds in the Marvel universe. He’s encountered beings that are far more dangerous than The Batman Who Laughs, and if he wanted to, he could easily attack his mind with his unparalleled telepathic abilities.
No matter how twisted the villain’s psyche may have become, Professor X can likely reach out to the mind of Bruce Wayne and bring him back from his dark turn. If not, he can just render him into a catatonic state if necessary.
4/10 Beats Namor the Sub-Mariner
Namor the Sub-Mariner is the King of Atlantis. His unique physiology allows him to be a formidable fighter both underwater and on the surface world. Plus, he has the might of the Atlantean army to command at his side – even though he prefers to do the dirty work himself.
Unfortunately, that’s not going to cut it against The Batman Who Laughs, who’s conquered countless universes in the Dark Multiverse including (presumably) multiple versions of Aquaman and his kingdom, whose powers and capabilities closely resemble Marvel’s mighty sea king.
3/10 Can’t Beat Dr. Strange
Dr. Strange’s vast knowledge of all things mystical and cosmic is unmatched in the Marvel universe. Even if The Batman Who Laughs has prep time against him, the Sorcerer Supreme has enough tricks in his bag to deal with whatever is thrown at him.
He’s dealt with universe-level threats countless times, and always seems to come out on top. The Batman Who Laughs would be wise not to take Strange on in a straight fight.
2/10 Beats The Hulk
Despite the Hulk’s overwhelming and seemingly unlimited strength, The Batman Who Laughs has fought against far more powerful beings, such as (presumably) countless Dark Multiverse Supermen and other metahumans of the DC main multiverse, whom he’s come up with contingency plans for.
He may not be able to slay the Hulk but The Batman Who Laughs can execute elaborate plans that puts him at an advantageous position even against the strongest heroes there is in any universe.
1/10 Can’t Beat Silver Surfer
Norrin Radd is the strongest herald of Galactus in the Marvel universe. And like The Batman Who Laughs, the Silver Surfer has been deemed a universe-level threat by the Nova Corps, and his range of powers are more than enough to contend with the villainous Bruce Wayne.
Even if The Batman Who Laughs uses his newly gained Doctor Manhattan powers, Radd has equally potent levels of energy and matter manipulation that can counteract such attacks, which makes him the perfect deterrent against cosmic-level threats like him.
